Healing from a Regenerative procedure takes time. One of the reasons our bodies take time to heal, is that the process of sending messages to cells, and actual tissue repair to unfold, is pretty intricate. When stem cells or Platelets deliver growth factors or signaling molecules to cells, messages are transmitted to the cell’s DNA. This leads to the generation of an mRNA sequence (transcription) which is like a blueprint for proteins that will be made from that DNA sequence. The mRNA must then be converted to proteins (translation) that will then be shipped outside the cell and organized into newly forming tissue. That tissue must then organize, and harden into fully functional tissue as the injury truly heals. A Regenerative procedure can take weeks to months to fully heal, and in this period it is very important that patients allow for proper rest and nutrients, so that nature can take its course.
